Tesla quietly dropped its most feature-rich software update of the year. Version 2026.26, officially titled the Summer Update, began its fleet-wide rollout on July 26 and is now reaching a growing percentage of Tesla vehicles worldwide — with over a dozen new features spanning AI, entertainment, navigation, and vehicle control.

"Hey Grok": The AI Assistant Grows Up
The headline feature is Grok Commands, turning Tesla's in-car Grok AI into a genuine voice assistant. Drivers can now say "Hey Grok" to initiate calls, search and play music, adjust climate, open the glovebox, or change driving settings — hands-free. The capability requires AMD compute hardware plus an active Premium Connectivity or Wi-Fi connection.

Entertainment Overhaul: Caraoke, Video Calls, and Apple Music
The Caraoke with Scoring app replaces the older Karaoke mode with a rebuilt experience: star ratings for each performance, real-time pitch tracking, and a rear display queue so passengers can pick the next song. AMD hardware required; Premium Connectivity recommended for catalog access.
More significantly, Tesla's Web Browser now supports in-cabin video conferencing — Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Discord — using the interior camera and microphone. Navigation Gets Smarter, Interior Gets Personal

Preferred Routes learns which roads you actually drive — not just the fastest calculated path — and incorporates those preferences into every future route.
