Planning a Halloween display
Trick-or-treat traffic peaks between about 6pm and 8:30pm, which is exactly when a light show is worth running. Park facing the street so the front of the car does the work — most of the choreography lives in the headlights and front markers.
Run the show on demand rather than on a loop. A two-minute show that starts when a group arrives lands far better than one that has been playing to an empty driveway all evening.
The show uses the horn and plays audio at volume. On a street full of small children, that is the part to think about before the lights.
How to play these on your Tesla
1. Download the .fseq file from any show on this page. You also need the matching MP3 — the light show file does not contain audio.
2. Format a USB drive as exFAT or FAT32, then create a folder named LightShow in the root directory.
3. Copy the .fseq file and the audio file into that folder. Both files must share the same base name, for example lightshow.fseq and lightshow.mp3.
4. Plug the drive into a USB port inside your car — the glovebox port or a centre-console port both work.
5. Open Toybox on the touchscreen, pick Light Show, and press Start. Put the car in Park first; it will not run otherwise.
Which Teslas can run these
Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X all support the Light Show feature, and every file on this page works on all four.
Cybertruck is not covered by the standard Light Show feature and is not supported by these files.
The show uses the headlights, tail lights, side markers, fog lights and — on cars that have them — the front doors, charge port and mirrors. Cars without powered doors simply skip those channels; the rest of the show still runs.

- Do you have Thriller or Monster Mash?
- Not in the library today. What is here are modern dark-themed tracks that work well for a spooky-season display. If you want a specific song, upload the MP3 and we generate the light show for it in about a minute — that route is not limited to what we already have.
- Do I need the MP3 as well as the .fseq file?
- Yes. A .fseq file contains only the lighting timeline, not the audio. You supply the matching music file, and both must share the same base name in the LightShow folder.
- Will this work on my Model 3?
- Yes. Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X all support Tesla's Light Show feature, and the files on this page work on all four. Cybertruck is not supported.
- How long does it take to make a show from my own song?
- About a minute for the generation itself, plus the few minutes it takes to copy the files to a USB drive the first time you do it.
- Can I run the show while driving?
- No. The car must be in Park. Tesla will not start a light show otherwise.
