Generate a Custom Song with AI Studio

Don't have the perfect song for your moment? Let AI create one for you. AI Studio generates original music from a simple text description — describe the mood, and AI composes a track that's uniquely yours. Then turn it into a Tesla light show with one click.

Standard plan required: AI Studio is available on the Standard plan ($19.99/month). Each song generation costs 2 Bolts from your monthly allowance of 200 Bolts. Once generated, converting to a light show is free.

Step 1: Open AI Studio

Navigate to AI Studio from the dashboard. You'll see a text input area where you describe the song you want.

Step 2: Give Your Song a Title (Optional but Recommended)

At the top, you'll find a Title field. While it's optional, we recommend filling it in — it helps you identify the song later in your library, and it becomes the file name when you download.

Examples of good titles:

  • "Sarah's Birthday Surprise"
  • "Graduation Celebration 2026"
  • "Christmas Morning Magic"

Step 3: Describe the Moment

This is where the magic happens. In the prompt field, describe the song you want the AI to create. You have up to 400 characters — think of it as a detailed text message.

Simple approach (great for beginners)

Just describe the vibe and occasion:

"An upbeat, joyful celebration song for a 30th birthday party. Fun and energetic with a festive feel."

Detailed approach (for music lovers)

If you know music, you can get specific about style, instruments, tempo, and vocals:

"A warm acoustic folk song with fingerpicked guitar and soft female vocals, reminiscent of early Taylor Swift. Medium tempo, 100 BPM. Lyrics about coming home after a long journey. Gentle crescendo into the chorus."

Things you can specify

  • Mood: Happy, melancholic, epic, peaceful, romantic, mysterious
  • Genre: Pop, rock, jazz, classical, electronic, synthwave, folk
  • Instruments: Piano, guitar, drums, strings, synths, brass
  • Vocal style: Male/female, raspy, smooth, choir, no vocals (instrumental)
  • Tempo: Slow, medium, fast, or a specific BPM
  • Reference: "sounds like..." a particular style or era

Step 4: Generate

Click Generate Song. The AI will compose your track — this usually takes 30 seconds to a couple of minutes. You can watch the progress on screen.

Once complete, you'll see your song appear with options to:

  • Play — Preview the song right in your browser.
  • Download MP3 — Save the audio file to your computer.
  • Make Light Show — Convert it to a Tesla light show (free, no extra Bolts).

Step 5: Turn It Into a Light Show

Click Make Light Show, and LightMyTesla will automatically choreograph your AI-generated song into a full light sequence. Download the ZIP, copy to USB, and you're ready to dazzle.

Share with the community: When you generate a song, you can choose to make it public on the Explore page. Standard plan members can also keep creations private.

Not happy with the result? AI music generation is creative and sometimes unpredictable. Try adjusting your prompt — more detail usually leads to better results. Each attempt costs 2 Bolts.
